Abstract
Termites depend for cellulose digestion on cellulases produced by their symbionts (intraintestinal flagellates and bacteria). In this paper a new source of cellulase used by Macrotermitinae is described: ingested conidiophores of the symbiotic fungus Termitomyces. © 1978 Birkhäuser Verlag.
