Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the overall network of linked devices as well as the technology that enables communication between connected devices and the cloud. This technology is flexible and the best technology to enhance agricultural production and reduce poverty and hunger while protecting the environment. Thus, this paper aims to present an IoT device for the cassava value chain that enables real time monitoring of parameters the: soil conditions, processing unit, and storage, along the value chain from farm to market. This device is made of hardware (microprocessor and sensors) and software that collect, process, analyze and send decision support information to the value chain stakeholders. The microprocessor (Arduino Uno) is mounted with sensors: pH, soil moisture, temperature, relative humidity, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium - NPK, gas emission sensor (NH3, CO2). The decisional parameters were set according to standards critical points, related to soil parameters, green gas emissions, storage, and quality control. The data was displayed on the scream, as well as stored in the cloud. The device performed all the evaluated parameters according to standard parameters.
