Abstract
Several nonlinear models were examined for their ability to describe the relationship between yield loss in cowpea and three infestation parameters of Maruca testulalis. The best model for all the three parameters was of the form y = abxwhere y is the yield loss and x is either percentage flower infestation, larval count or pod damage. A validation of the model using data collected from an independent experiment confirmed its suitability. © 1993 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
