Abstract

Tanzania is part of PASET and has expressed its intention to contribute to Rsif. There are 11 competitively selected Tanzanian Rsif PhD students (73% women) in four thematic areas in four different African Host Universities. Two Tanzanian universities were competitively selected as Rsif African host universities: Sokoine University of Agriculture in Food security and agribusiness in 2017 and Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, (NM-AIST) in mineral, mining and material science in 2019. They are hosting a total of 60 Rsif PhD students from 20 different nationalities with 50 publications in high impact journals to date. There are 6 Rsif funded research and innovation projects under implementation in Tanzania.
